During summer we are limited on treatments we can do or want to do since most of us want to enjoy the summer sun and have no downtime. However, I think we can all agree we don’t want to back track on our health, aging prevention, or skin care. Let’s discuss the summer must haves!
1) IV Vitamin Therapy
The health of your bones, muscles, heart, and brain depends on having the right vitamins and minerals to help your body perform as it should. Elixir Aesthetics offers IV therapy that administers vitamins and minerals directly into the bloodstream, allowing for a higher absorption rate. As a supplement to a healthy lifestyle, it has been known to treat an array of medical conditions as well as boost the immune system, increase energy levels, sharpen mental clarity, and promote healing. We need on average 15 cups of water a day and a balanced diet and supplements to get all of our vitamins and nutrients. Water comprises of 60 percent of the human body and replenishing your fluids throughout the year is key to staying in good health. The average person does not drink enough fluids which is when getting IV vitamin therapy comes in handy since we go through our hydration recourses more quickly during summer.
2) Protect Yourself From UV Rays
When UV rays from the sun penetrate the skin it can cause damage or destroy underlying skin cells. This can lead to decrease skin elasticity, skin and cell dehydration, and create hyperpigmentation or sun spots. All of which can age you and is much more difficult to get rid of then these problems are to create. With fair skin to avoid sun damage wear hats and mineral based sunscreen. Our favorites are Rodan + Fields Recharge Sunscreen, Truth Treatments ZnO Block, and EltaMD Sunscreen. If you already have hyperpigmentation Diamon Deluze cream from Elixir Aesthetics is a MUST! Formulated by our pharmacist and has been coined by our patients as “IPL in a bottle”.
3) Get a Tan Without Sun Damage
While nothing is wrong with being fair-skinned. Having a nice bronzed glow during summer tends to be desired by most. While tanning the traditional manner can be damaging to your skin there are a few options. The first is Melanotan II, formulated by Elixir Aesthetics’s pharmacy and is a sublingual losange that prevents sun damage and increases melanocytes giving you a subtle tan. Many celebrities use these treatments such as Kim Kardashian. You can also get a spray tan or use the Rodan + Fields tanning solution that is quick and lasts 10 days.
4) Get a Facial or Hydrafacial
Facials can help keep your skin clean, pores clear, add hydration and minimize breakouts. With an infusion of vitamins, proteins, enzymes, and slowing down cell turnover something as simple as a facial can keep you looking young and vibrant! Paris Hilton is 40 years old and has vowed she has never had an injectable and simply gets 3 facials a week to maintain her youth and she doesn’t look a day over 20! Every facial also comes with lymphatic drainage massage. If you’re not Paris Hilton the average recommendation for facials are once or twice a month.
5) Botox
Botox is a neuromodulator that is injected into the muscles of the faces to prevent fine lines and wrinkles. Botox, Jeuveau, and Dysport can be done year round and there is relatively no downtime. This is not a treatment that needs to stop during summer and you can also get Botox in hands and armpits for excessive sweating which is common during summer. Botox will give you a flawless and wrinkle free look, no IG filter needed!
6) Body Contouring
Slim down during summer and get permanent bikini body results in as little as 1 to 3 weeks! In one simple 30 minute treatment at Elixir Aesthetics you can lose up to 26% body fat in a single targeted area. By combining the latest technology in ultrasounds and radio frequencies, the Venus Legacy Method effectively distributes high-speed contouring capabilities over every part of your body. A revolutionary extra-large applicator disperses energy to disrupt fat cells while deeply heating tissues for better absorption. This treatment is highly customizable, so you can enjoy lasting results that complement your body. Plus when compared with liposuction, this form of body contouring is safe, less invasive, and requires less recovery time. It can also be used to minimize fine lines, wrinkles, and cellulite visibility, as well as to restore firmness to the skin.
7) Hair Restoration
Platelet-rich Plasma, or PRP, is a process that uses your body’s own resources to heal and regenerate. Our blood consists of two main components: red blood cells, and plasma. Plasma contains white blood cells and platelets, which are rich in growth factors, or messengers, signaling other cells to function. Studies have shown that PRP hair restoration can increase hair count, hair thickness, and the growth phase of the hair cycle. That means all the improved growth you see is your real hair, gained by stimulating the follicle cells with PRP. Starting with a simple blood draw, your blood is then placed in a centrifuge to separate it into its component parts: platelet-poor plasma, platelet-rich plasma, and red blood cells. The platelet-rich plasma is then drawn into a syringe and injected into the areas of the scalp that need to have increased hair growth. If needles sound scary, there’s no need to worry. Most patients receive their injections without numbing and with little to no discomfort. For best results, consistency is key. Treatments are performed once a month for three to four months, followed by an additional three to six months based on the patient’s response. PRP can, and should, be part of a multifaceted program to treat hair thinning and loss. Ask how we can help you discover your confidence today.
8) EMS
Electrical Muscle Stimulation (also known as E-Stim or EMS) uses electrical impulses to trigger muscle contractions, just like the natural signals sent from your brain. By stimulating your muscles directly, we’re able to affect many more muscle fibers than you would in a traditional workout. Your central nervous system has built-in limits for what you can accomplish during a workout. But with EMS, we can overcome those neural inhibitors that limit strength and power development and focus on muscle growth. Many of the world’s top athletes use electrical muscle stimulation to enhance their training programs due to its benefits for fitness performance, explosiveness, strength and strength endurance building, and recovery.
